Main Introduction

Mud/Gas Separator is a piece of special equipment for degassing gas-invaded mud in the first grade. It is mainly used to remove big bubbles above φ3mm in diameter and these bubbles refer to expanded gases in the fluids that fill in some parts of well annulus. Well kick even spilling out to the rotary table will easily occur if they are not removed.

Drilling fluid with gas goes into the separator and drops along the inner wall. With collision to increase the contact area, it flows downward and becomes a turbulent state which makes gas separate from mud. The free gas goes through the top of vessel and is discharged from the gas outlet. The length of gas output pipe can be determined at the spot. The drilling fluid without gas flows into the following solids control equipment.
